Halo: Reach is the forthcoming (and last) chapter from current developer studio Bungie, ending their reign over the Xbox Halo franchise. It’s 2552 on the human planet Reach, and players once again adopt the Spartan colours as Noble 6 and, together with Noble Regiment, the gamer is tasked with defending their home from the onslaught known as the Covenant. However, Halo: Reach is a prequel to Bungie’s orignal award winning “Halo: Combat Evolved” game.

Primarily designed to be an updated version of the Xbox Halo franchise entry Halo 3, the notion was scrapped, Bungie stating they would rebuild and augment the quality of the Halo 3 designs. Harking back to the Halo: Combat Evolved production designs, thiseffectively means the new weapon, armour and covenant designs in Halo: Reach will deviate dramatically from earlier entries but retain the spirit of the Xbox Halo franchise.

Stating that they will not cap the Xbox Halo franchise without fireworks, the company are looking to greatly improve the visual quality of all gaming aspects, even including the weaponry. This clearly required Bungie to produce an all new engine for Halo: Reach, with the AIbeing improved and nudged to deliver better support for the gamer as they battle the enemy.

And so following all this talk of combining greatly refined graphics and improved AI and designs, will Bungie leave the Xbox Halo Franchise with a bang and cement their name for creating the best FPS for the Xbox 360? The way to be sure is to pick up a copy when it is released in the coming months!
