The Dark Knight Could Break 1 billion

The Dark Knight,” which now looks likely to top the $400 million mark in international grosses today, will also pass the $900 million mark in total earnings this weekend. The film may even have enough firepower to become only the fourth film to hit $1 billion in combined foreign and domestic box office. The only other movies to do so are “Titanic,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.”

In addition, “The Dark Knight” is currently the second highest earning film domestically, after “Titanic.” Even after adjusting for inflation, the film is still holding second. “Titanic” grossed over $600 million, at this point “Knight” will definitely break $500 million, but will then quickly be released on DVD for the Christmas season.

Warner Bros has yet to announce a DVD/Blu-ray date, but it is assumed that the film will become available in stores in the fourth quarter, probably late November/early December.

I saw this movie not too long ago and it was great. It’s no surprise that it’s doing so well. The Joker was awesome :)

Honestly, This move was ridiculously over rated. I Went to see it with my cousins and my brother; the only person that enjoyed it was my female cousin. She liked the Joker. Theres no reason this movie should be #1 on IMDB. Not even for a minute. I’d give it a 5/10.

I really liked this movie, almost more than Batman Begins which I also liked a lot. These new dark and edgy Batman movies are so much more attractive than the other ones that tried to hard to be funny.

I also believe that the movie was over-rated, but this this is after all my personal opinion. I guess millions of other movie fans cannot be wrong. Guess, everyone has different likes and dislikes. But one thing everyone cannot disapprove is that the movie was more of a Joker and less of a batman movie.

Maybe the appropriate name of the movie would have been “The Adventures of Joker” but if the name “Dark Knight” did the trick, no need to talk over the name :)

I’m kinda mixed on Dark Knight. I kinda want it to topple Titanic but then, I liked Titanic better. I’ve only seen Titanic once and that was at the theaters. And I’m not willing to sit through Dark Knight again as I didn’t think it was that great either tho’ I think the acting was excellent and grim. It’s is good though that a movie in this day of age with Internet downloads and such can earn that much money. This is a great blog by the way. Well written.

I have to agree with Forsaken that the dark knight was overrated. Everybody I talked to thinks it was great and wanted to see it again. Me, I got bored halfway through the movie. I also thought it just went on and on and two face was poorly cat. And also the romantic interest. But being highly successful is a good thing in the comic-book movie industry. I love comics and hope to see more franchises.

I don’t think so anyone can play joker so well like Heath Ledger. If anyone does, his performance will always be compared with Heath Ledger.
