Well it looks like one final appearance for The Gris in the best crime scene TV show, CSI. The lead character has been there from the beginning and after 8 full series has decided to call it a day. Grissom has appeared in the first 9 episodes of series 9 and looks to be in at least another 1 as the last episode before the holiday break ended with the infamous “To Be Continued” tag line.

I was aware that Gris was leaving during the Summer and that he would be replaced by Laurence “Morpheus” Fishborune. A very respectable actor, who usually does movies rather than TV shows. This shows exactly how big a character that Grissom is and how big the CSI show is too.

With Grissom leaving my mind started to run wild with exciting ways the writers could get rid of Gris, maybe he gets killed in the Warrick case, maybe he goes crazy after Sarah leaving or develops his own little dark passenger just like Dexter. What I didn’t want to happen is exactly what looks like it will happen, he will wimp away on the “I’m leaving” excuse. I guess this does keep open the opportunity for a come back but as long as you didn’t see him die then that was always an option. Other shows have even done it when you have seen people die.

So I guess my plea is – make his final episodes exciting and unpredictable!
